Get a free pint of Wainwright ale with the Worth the Walk Strava Challenge

In partnership with global fitness app Strava, Wainwright are giving hikers a chance to earn a free pint of Wainwright by completing the new Worth the Walk Challenge.

Available to Strava’s UK community, the Worth the Walk Challenge rewards those who sign up and complete the challenge with a free pint of Wainwright Amber.

To complete the challenge,  users with a Strava account will need to log 150 minutes of activity – hiking, running, walking or wheelchair activity – by the end of the month. Once completed, participants will be able to choose a pub near them and receive a digital ‘scratch card’, sent to their mobile phone, to redeem their free pint by simply showing it at the bar.

Andrew Volker, Brand Manager for Wainwright, said: “Alfred Wainwright, namesake for our fantastic ale, was a passionate walker well-known for exploring the Lake District and his drawings of its remarkable views. In his own words, ‘the best views always come after the hardest climbs’. He even went as far as buying everyone who walked the 250-mile Pennine Way a pint of beer at the end.

“We’re honouring Alfred’s determination to go the extra mile, by rewarding those who complete the Worth the Walk Challenge with a pint of our delicious Wainwright Amber at a local pub. One sip of our refreshing, moreish amber ale, and you’ll know the walk was worth it.”

Pubs taking part in the promotion will receive Wainwright branded pump clips, beer mats and tent cards to showcase their involvement. All point of sale displays a QR code by which hikers can learn more about the challenge and join up to take the Worth the Walk Challenge.

The Worth the Walk Challenge will be redeemable in participating pubs until 7th July 2023.
